Google has launched the Indian Language Internet Alliance, which will help promote the growth of Indian language content online. Through this initiative, millions of Indians will be able to join the online bandwagon. Several leading Indian media networks are part of this initiative. Already India has 200 million internet users & this initiative will help bring many non English speaking population of India to be internet users.
Google voice search for Hindi is also available now & a new website hindiweb.com, which will have hindi content like apps, music, videos, blogs & others. With increasing internet & mobile penetration, Hindi content will help bring millions of people online.
